from $15.00
sold out

The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is considered one of the most adaptable of houseplants and the easiest to grow. This plant can grow in a wide range of conditions and suffers from few problems, other than brown tips. The spider plant is so named because of its spider-like plants, or spiderettes, which dangle down from the mother plant like spiders on a web. Available in green or variegated varieties, these spiderettes often start out as small white flowers. As daylight increases in spring, spider plants should begin producing flowers, eventually developing into babies, or spider plant spiderettes on mature plants that have enough energy to produce “offshoots”.

NATIVE LAND: coastal South Africa

WATER: Water thoroughly but allow plant to dry out between waterings. This plant doesn’t appreciate

LIGHT: Can tolerate low light but bright indirect light preferred

ISSUES: browning leaf tips - completely normal and due to fluoride in the water supply. flush well with filtered water to prevent this form happening.

BENEFITS: absorbing carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and xylene.

PET/KID FRIENDLY: Safe for humans and pets
